The Dredging Question
October 14th, 2026
6:00 pm to 7:30 pm
Burke Community Building
212 School St, West Burke

What is dredging? Did we dredge rivers more in the past than we do now? Why? Bring your dredging and sediment questions to the Burke Community Building on Wednesday, October 14th from 6 to 7:30.
We’ll be joined by Shayne Jaquith, Watershed Restoration Manager at The Nature Conservancy Vermont, and Nicki Buck, a Water Resources Engineer at McFarland Johnson. Shayne and Nicki will talk about all things dredging and sediment – what it is, how it fit with our river management of the past, when we use it as a tool today, and when other tools might be more effective in our changing climate.
This event is free and open to the public. Light snacks will be provided. Contact emily@caledoniacountynrcd.org with questions or to request an accommodation.
Sponsored by the Burke Conservation Commission and the Caledonia County Natural Resources Conservation District.
