Compaction.  We all got it.  So what do we do about it?  First we have to identify what kind of compaction we have.  We're going to talk about that.  Then we'll look at how to avoid compaction and how to distribute weight properly on our tractors.  We'll also run several pieces of equipment and talk about using different types of equipment and cover crops - what they're good for and how to get the most out of them.  And we're going to dig some holes, so dress for success.

  • Heather Darby, UVM Extension, NW Crops and Soils
  • Joshua Faulkner, UVM Extension, Center for Sustainable Agriculture
  • Odette Ménard, Soil & Water Conservation Consultant, Quebec
